A few weeks ago I asked anyone to ask me questions in a journal
[link] . Didn't get too many, but I promised the answers, so here goes!
By Kevis: Has your art ever gotten you laid?
I cant say it has. Ive never heard it put off a girl either though!
By Kevis: How many keys are on your key ring?
Right now, only two. Just last year there were 7 though. Its part of the simplifying my life plan haha.
By Kevis: Have you ever owned (an) antfarm(s)?
Nope, they dont really do it for me
By Twentyhours: How do you get inspired?
95% of the time music. Sometimes by browsing through artwork or magazines etc.
By RednaN: How do you get your clients?
Im lucky in this aspect I guess. They have always come to me until now.
By RednaN: Have you ever been dumped by a client, when you thought you already had him/her in the pocket?
Dumped no, everyone I have worked for has been satisfied with the end product. Most of them are still regular clients. Of course Ive sent out estimates that didnt end up in a job, but thats to be expected. I dont buy everything Ive seen the price tag of either.
By Starrytwiglet: When you're designing posters or logos for clients, how do you come up the ideas?
Sometimes it comes more difficult than other times. Most of the time an idea pops up right when I first read the brief, or when Im talking to the client. At other times I have to think about it longer. Forcing it never helps though, if nothing comes up, its better to leave it for a bit and do something else.
By Starrytwiglet: Is there a technique you use on a lot of your work, that you keep coming back to? eg a kind of colour overlay in Photoshop, drawing in a certain tool or a certain filter etc.
I usually use some kind of technique to transform the colors slightly. I also like using textures, though they have their time and place.
By Starrytwiglet: How do you start a piece? Do you sketch it out, or arrange images on the screen etc?
I very rarely sketch out an idea on paper, it just doesnt work for me. I do sometimes collect images and create a sort of moodboard. As for the design itself, it usually just develops fluently, not in different stages or files (or pieces of paper for that matter).
By Asteria24: How much coffee do you drink on an average day?
I dont drink any. Id only drink coffee if it has insane amounts of milk and plenty of sugar. I figured if thats how I drink it, then whats the point of drinking it. If Im in need of caffeine (not that I get the urge often), I rather drink some Red Bull.
By Asteria24: Why did you join deviantART? Did you find what you were looking for?
I joined deviantART in a time of my life when I was a member of a lot of online communities, mainly forums. When I found out about deviantART I figured this would be a good place to further develop my skills and knowledge in an interactive environment. At first I was slightly disappointed, its difficult for a new member to get comments on dA. In the end its like a snowball effect. You keep getting more and more exposure. deviantART has helped clients find me, Ive gotten quite a few jobs and contacts through it.
By Asteria24: How did you first get into design?
That could be a very long answer. Ill keep it brief. As a kid I drew a lot of cars and houses, then I wanted to become an architect. When that turned out to be too difficult and mathematics related I went for a marketing degree. Through marketing I get in touch with drawing again, well
advertising. And that got me going in design.
By Squirrel-Industries: What are your top five favourite typefaces?
I dont really have favourites, I really don't agree with designers who for example use Helvetica for 99% of their work. A font is a design on its own, and in my mind theres just no way that a single design is suitable for any job.
By Debas3r: Do you know illegal ninja moves from the government?
I know that our prime-minister is really Harry Potter, and that he has a secret twin.

Interesting, cool responses.
You are so true about the typefaces, I don't agree with designers that over use typefaces either. Thanks for the response.
